THE EVENT HORIZON: the book, the film, the exhibition – where the light is taken by the dark – a point of no return.

Polycrisis and Hope

We are living in a time of great disagreement. It is confusing, the endless suffering and destruction, all caused by man.
These are the consequences of greed and predatory, globalised capitalism.
Together, they represent mankind’s event horizon. But there is still hope.

A stark contrast exists between what we say and the actions that we ultimately do. This cognitive dissonance grows louder than ever.
Our mother earth is a living, self-regulating organism.
Everything is or was connected.
The matters which support life are dying by our actions.
It’s not hard to see what we are doing to our natural surroundings and thus to ourselves.

Like a broken stalk forced to grow towards an artificial light, our freedom is stolen from us. Our trauma begins from this— the original sin now inherited generation after generation.
We “shrink” to withering spirits, unconsciously unaware that we allow ourselves to be dictated. We are no longer trained to use the “brain” found in our gut and in our heart.

All people on Earth have the same core and fundamental feelings. We have soft minds unto which we can be oppressed and are oppressed. Today, our natural needs are not met through the hustle of our insane, modern societies.

The logical brain steers our ship, but there is no room for feelings in logic.
We compensate with all sorts of addictions: hyperactivity, shopping, drugs, idealism, alcohol, food, training, sex, gambling. All forms of disease and a gross number of suicides follow as a result.
All of this is happening in countries that are supposedly rated among the best places to live on our Earth.

To learn means to walk, not only to sit in a room and read.

All of our societal structures, e.g.: laws, norms, and authorities are constructed externally to us as individuals and are used to regulate these external conditions. They do not belong inside of us, yet there they live festering and swelling, usurping our true identities.

If one is to truly succeed, one must learn to defend one’s mind.

Change will happen no matter what.
The changes necessary in our lifestyles are also tangible and real.
It is an alteration of actions.
And life values must shift in focus.
These changes can only come from within oneself.
From this we can gain independence.
A new perspective emerges through this process, an unlearning of all we have been taught; illuminating the upside down nature, from what it is truly meant to be seen.

Nature too is a language. Learn to read.

Perhaps our ego should be a pillow rather than the armour we wear it as today.
Though shiny, it is a backwards reflection stumbling through a hectic forest of 1s and 0s, offs or ons, blacks or whites.
For nothing in our world is truly such, there is always a grey, and there is always a backdoor.

Feel the connectedness in harmony with our Mother Earth.

The umbilical cord is still there. There are those who lead us to believe that it has just been wrapped around our necks one too many times, too difficult to untangle alone. This false armour blocks us from knowledge, and the perception necessary if we want to survive. Only through our connection with Nature, can we find strength, true comfort and peace within ourselves.

We all come from nature, we are made from the same stuff, we are all one.
Each individual must wake up to their own responsibility and walk with it. Fucking run with it.

From within, together we can change our course towards a future in balance with Nature and find true meaning in life. We must emphasise the sacred power in Nature, and our nature, this power within one’s own inner-self.
It is about going Home, a rediscovering of our origins.

Find your inner compass.

How did we end up in this multi-mess, and how can we solve it?
Since my present circumstances did not explain, I needed to find answers and my own bearing.

This story is about finding beauty — and the truth that consequently follows.
